I first discovered Palle Danielsson when I checked out a new trio my uncle had put together with John Taylor in the 90’s. The trio recorded 4 albums under Peter’s name on the ECM label that have long held a place in my heart (he is featured on quite a few ECM albums with various artists). I always thought that this trio represented some of the best trio work that Peter undertook. I still love these records.
Palle is very well known in Europe but not as widely mentioned in the US but he is among the greats of any era. Palle is widely known for his early work with Keith Jarrett in the 70’s but has also worked with Bill Evans, Elvin Jones, Bob Stenson and many, many other world class artists.
